'The Deception' by S.K.Way is the first book of Island of Blood series.

Iris is kidnapped and kept in captivity. She has lost memories of her past including her full name. She along with 5 others have been kidnapped and brought to an island to contest for a position of the Advisor. The committee as they call it consists of 5 leaders each with a unique name and an animal as their symbol and are ruthless in their ways.

Iris and the others have no other option but to follow their word. The story follows suspense and thrilling competition for the throne of the Advisor. The Dictator wants to take revenge from Iris for the death of her boyfriend Herman which of course Iris is clueless about.

The story is very fascinating to read and filled with thrill and suspense. I liked the way the characters are portrayed and how the story is narrated. I liked the character of Iris and the sudden plot twists make you want to read more.

The story is very interesting to read and it will keep you hooked till the end. If you like hunger games and such nooks then this is definitely for you. The plot twist at the end is unexpected and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
