Author: Sabarna Roy
Genre: Poetry
Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
'Winter Poems' by Sabarna Roy is a collection of 38 poems which are divided into two parts winter poems 2010 and 2012 that talk about life, the idea of death, existence, relationships, poverty, emotions, shadows etc.
All of the poems have so many emotions which are conveyed really well by the author. These poems need to be read slowly and more than once in order to grasp the meaning of it.
These poems are written in the form of passages or paragraphs rather than poetry form, which I didn't quite like but the poems are beautifully penned down and it sure gives you a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The poems have a lot of depth and meaning to it that you want to stop and think and reflect back on your life at least once.

Each poem is unique in its own way and the author has written each poem with utmost honesty. These poems through light on the reality of the world in an honest way and keeps you thinking.
The writing style of the author is easy to understand the cover pic is so beautiful and the language and the words used in the poems are really good but could be quite difficult for the first time poetry readers.
I loved reading each and every poem in this book but I like the following poem very much.
"A shadow is the truest reflection of your soul
Its darkness filled edges tell you a narrative only if you dare to see through its layers"
Overall it was a great poetry book and I recommend it to every poetry lover.
