Chains of time is a story of conflicts between Amara, an African princess and Hendrik Van Owen, a slaver. Amara has supernatural powers where she can look into the future ancestor and understand everything although she has no power to change it.

Owen is immortal, he kidnaps Amara and destroys everyone who belongs to her and keeps her enslaved on the eve of the Civil War. When he attains some of Amara powers he fights her and her descendants for 160 years until he is confronted by her descendants, the Kelly family, in Harlem.

Telly, his sister Regina and brothers Jerome and Warren all different by nature but one common thing among them is the supernatural power passed on from Amara, their ancestor. They find their powers when confronted by Owen and now they have to defeat him.

Very intriguing and captivating fantasy story. The author has done a great job of describing the characters. He very well narrated the experiences of the Black people and the struggles their families go through.

The author has sure done great research for his book and it reflects on his work. It's very interesting to see how the Kelly family discover their powers and about their ancestors.

Overall it was a good read.
