Author: Abhishek Bhatt

Genre: Historical Romance

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

The story revolves around Abhimanyu, the prince of Ranakpour and Meera, a commoner and an aspiring singer from Mumbai. The story is set in the backdrop of the events that happened during the independence.

The story talks about India after independence, how it affected the royal families, how the people and royal families adjusted to the changes that happened after independence and also about love, heartbreak, struggles, aspirations etc.

Abhimanyu leaves the royal palace to go to Bombay to find a career in Cricket. He is an excellent player but like any other player he too faces a lot of ups and downs in his life. He meets Meera Apte, sister of his fellow teammate and falls hopelessly in love with her. But not all love stories get a happy ending, right? Their love had to go through a lot of obstacles including family pressure. Will the star-crossed lovers withstand all these obstacles and come together?

I loved the way the author has included the post-independence struggles and events within a romance story. It gave the story a very interesting touch. The writing was beautiful and easy to understand and I finished reading it in one sitting. I loved the character of Meera a lot in this story. This is the author's debut novel and it is soon going to be made a motion picture. I recommend this to everyone who loves historical romance.
