Book Review #173: Armed Struggle by Aman Chaudhary

Author: Aman Chaudhary

Genre: History

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

We have always been taught since our childhood that India got her Independence through the non-violence movement of Mahatma Gandhi. We have never been made aware of those brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's freedom.

Author Aman Chaudhary through his extensive research gives us the unbiased history of India and it's brace soldiers who took upon the armed struggle with the only aim of releasing India from the clutches of the British.

It's very shameful and disappointing to see how the Indian government since the Independence has very cleverly neglected the sacrifices of these brave freedom fighters and gave the credit of Independence to the non-violence movement of M.Gandhi and has no reference to these heroes in our textbooks.

This book talks about Subhash Chandra Bose, Aurobindo Ghosh, Veer Savarkar and many such freedom fighters and their movements and struggles. It talks about the revolutionary movements from 1900 - 1947 which was the real freedom struggle. I liked how the author had included the timeline along with visuals and newspaper articles at the end of each chapter. My only disappointment with the book was its formatting.

This book is a Must Read for all the Indians.
