Author: Manjiri Prabhu

Genre: Thriller, mystery

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

When I first saw the book cover I thought it to be a romantic love story but I was surprised the moment I read the prologue and realised it is going to be much more intriguing than what I thought it to be. The story is a combination of love, thrill and mystery.

The story revolves around the main characters Tara, Rohini. Tara, an ambitious and cheerful girl is living an idyllic life in Kesarli with her mom Rohini and their governess Meerakka, who loves Rohini and Tara like her own daughters.

Tara wants to explore new things and new places beyond Kesarli. Her desire lands her in Panchagani where she is destined to discover her past and the secrets related to the alluring Rajwada which changes her life forever.

The story thus follows Tara's journey towards unravelling the mystery related to Rajwada and her past. In this journey, she finds herself between strangers but the only thing that kept her determination strong was her newly found friend and love interest Sarang.

The story although has so many characters, not even for a minute I felt confused and all the characters are given equal importance by the author. The mystery and suspense are maintained brilliantly throughout the story that the readers will stay hooked until the end and just when you think you guessed the culprit, it turns to be someone else. The shocking climax is just cherry on the cake for the readers.

The places and the characters are described so magnificently by the author that you feel like you are actually living in those places. I liked the character of Tara and bonding between Sanika and Tara is so lovely. I couldn't keep this book away for a minute until I completed reading it. Having read the author's other books, I loved this just as much as I loved her other novels. I'm so glad I came across this book.
